The Brief
The Ivy is a contemporary residential apartment complex in Maroochydore, designed to offer urban luxury in a coastal setting. Complete Design Fabrication was engaged to provide an extensive suite of aluminium architectural elements. The primary goal was to ensure resident safety and privacy while providing essential ventilation for building services, all integrated into a clean, modern aesthetic.
Special Considerations
As a prominent Sunshine Coast project, material durability and compliance with strict safety standards were non-negotiable. The project featured complex ventilation requirements for basement and plant areas, necessitating high-spec louvre systems.
The Solution & Materials Used
Our Warana facility manufactured a comprehensive range of custom aluminium solutions:
- Aluminium Balustrading: Our engineered powder-coated system featuring 50mm SHS core-drilled posts, 70x30mm RHS top and bottom rails, and 20mm CHS vertical bars at 100mm centres.
- Safety Handrailing:
- Wall-Mounted: 50mm round tube aluminium rails with 180-degree mandrel-bent ends for ergonomic, compliant transition safety.
- Freestanding: Core-drilled aluminium posts with pin-top 50mm CHS top rails and 40mm CHS mid-rails.
- Advanced Ventilation Louvres: High-performance Z-shaped louvres in 100x25mm PFC frames, providing maximum airflow for utility areas while maintaining a sleek exterior profile.
- Privacy & Perforated Screening:
- SC-01 Perforated Screens: 3mm standard pattern perforated aluminium sheets on 50mm SHS frames for a contemporary visual texture.
- SC-02 Vertical Batten Screens: Robust 150x50mm RHS battens at 200mm centres for high-level privacy.
- Fencing Solutions: Fully compliant perimeter and pool fencing (FEN-01 & FEN-02) featuring 50mm SHS posts and vertical bar infills.
The Result
The Ivy stands as a testament to our ability to deliver large-scale, high-compliance commercial packages. By utilizing our in-house powder coating and fabrication, we provided absolute consistency in finish across all five levels, delivering a durable and aesthetically superior result.
