The Brief
Special Considerations
The scale of the Emporio development necessitated a highly organized installation schedule to align with the various stages of construction. A key challenge was the coordinated installation of safety balustrading and architectural screening across multiple levels and diverse building use-cases. As a central Sunshine Coast hub, all finishes were chosen for their long-term durability and resistance to the local coastal-suburban climate.
The Solution & Materials Used
We utilized our in-house fabrication and powder-coating expertise to deliver a broad scope of custom aluminium works:
- Aluminium Balustrading: Our signature powder-coated system comprising 50mm SHS core-drilled posts, 70x30mm RHS top and bottom rails, and 20mm CHS vertical bars.
- Aluminium Safety Handrailing:
- Wall-Mounted: Powder-coated 50mm round tube aluminium rails with 180-degree mandrel ends for smooth, compliant passage in common areas.
- Freestanding: Core-drilled aluminium systems featuring 50mm CHS top rails and 40mm CHS mid-rails.
- Privacy Screening & Louvres:
- Perforated Screens: 3mm standard pattern perforated aluminium sheets on 50mm SHS frames, used for both aesthetic feature panels and utility screening.
- Fixed Louvres: Z-shaped ventilation louvres, providing essential airflow to plant rooms and basement areas while maintaining visual privacy.
- Security & Pool Fencing: Comprehensive perimeter fencing and fully compliant pool fencing featuring 50mm SHS posts and vertical bar infills.
The Result
The Emporio project showcases our capacity to act as a single-source partner for large-scale developments. By manufacturing the expansive aluminium balustrade runs and intricate screening systems in our Warana facility, we ensured absolute consistency in quality and a “right-first-time” installation that meets all Australian Standards and commercial safety requirements.
